What to Expect
-
From
your meeting point you drive to the launch site of
the day, and get the balloon ready and inflated.
- You climb onboard, and after a short briefing, gently
take off and drift over Australia’s most beautiful
landscape.
- After landing the balloon is packed away and you
are taken for a gourmet breakfast with Champagne at
Victoria’s five star guest house.
- All pilots are professional's of the highest standards.
Chief Pilot, Chris Dewhirst is Australia’s most
decorated balloon pilot, and was the first to fly
a hot air balloon over Mt Everest.
When
can you go?
- Every day weather permitting, meeting time approx
1 hour before sunrise. Flight time is one hour, total
tour time approx four hours including breakfast.
- Hot air ballooning is a weather dependent activity
- you can only safely fly in calm light winds normally
about 3 to 10 kts.
- Any flight may be cancelled due to unfavourable
weather conditions but this is normally done the night
before when you phone for confirmation.
Special Considerations
- Ballooning is gentle and suitable for all persons
over the age of 5 years.
- No specific level of fitness is required however
you will need to be able to stand for the duration
of the flight (1 hour).
You
Need To Bring
- Camera / video, a hat, sunglasses, and sturdy shoes
(no high heels)
- O’Brien Guides advise not to bring valuables
such as: passports, valuable jewellery or large sums
of cash.
